So this is a bit of a fishing post (at least I am being honest!)
In the next few months Railo Technologies will be working on a number of projects and we are looking to build up a good list of contractors that can work on these projects with us.
I am not posting details of specific jobs of course, but you should have a variety of skills round CFML and CFML development, such as frameworks, ORM techniques, code optimisation and load testing etc.
Please, read carefully now, I am not looking for agents, I am sure you have wonderful contractors and reasonable rates and make coffee to die for but please do NOT contact me.
So, if you are contracting at the moment, or will be looking for contracts in the UK and Europe over the next few months send me an email with your CV, letting me know which areas you enjoy/are good at/ both/ want to get into etc.
IF YOU ARE NOT AN AGENT, email me over at mark at getrailo dot com
Finally, as previously mentioned, I shall be treating emails from agents with the contempt they deserve, so don't ruin your day eh?

A friend of mine asked me if I knew anyone that would like to apply for the following job:
A small, relatively new company that has been set up as a sister company to a leading new media agency. Both companies work closely together and both have recently won new clients and have exciting growth and development plans and potential. Due to our size, culture and approach to client service we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate an ability to multi task, work under own steam from brief to completion and who are committed to delivering work that works.
We would ideally like someone who can work on own initiative in Flash, Flash Lite 2 (nice to have), HTML, CSS, ASP. The emphasis would be on Flash but must have an eye to dynamic data driven content and applications, through to flash based sales presenters, banners etc.
They will need an eye for design (though often design is provided), lateral thought, motion and interactivity when it comes to Flash. In an ideal world they would also have an understanding of .Net or at least what can be done with it.
Must have lots of energy, passion and dedication to the job in hand.
As a company we will be moving towards dynamic applications which may encompass Adobe Air, Flex etc. in the future.
Salary level: circa £35K with possibility of share options
Don't send me details, you can email them

As some people might have noticed, its got so busy round here that I haven't been blogging as much as I used to and basically been keeping my head down and eyes on coding for the last few months.
To aliviate this situation,
Design UK, the company I work for is desperately seeking a couple of ColdFusion contractors to work in our London offices for a minimum of 2 weeks (could be up till XMas).
No, you can't do the work remotely, sorry, don't ask. No, really... just don't.
Also, if you are an agency,
don't call me or email me. Just don't, really, you WILL get abuse, and I am sure you don't want that.
The pay is dependent on experience (hey, I want to pay nothing, you want a lot, we compromise). The kind of experience that we are seeking is:
- 2 years minimum ColdFusion (obviously)
- Experience of Frameworks especially Model-Glue and ColdSpring are a massive plus
- SQL Server knowledge
- HTML, JavaScript and CSS (yep, there is front end work to do too!)
- XML (generating and parsing)
- Subversion and Trac knowledge is also a plus
Start date is as soon as possible, so if you are available and want some work, let me know by emailing me your CV to .

As the CFEclipse project grows, both in terms of features and number of users, I would like to "hire" someone that will be in charge of the testing and QA group. This role would not take a lot of your time, maybe a couple of hours a week, maybe more if a lot of features are going in.
The tasks that would go to the Test and QA Manager would be:
- Manage the Test Team Members, assigning areas that they are responsible for, and tests they will run/carry out on CFEclipse
- Log bugs as required, close bugs that are not relevant, using the reports produced by the Test Team Members
- Highlight any areas requiring attention and monitor user mailing lists for errors that need to be included in the Test Team's standard tests
- Implement whatever tools/technologies are deemed fit to carry out these roles
As you can tell, this role would be more of a management role, and to aid the Test and QA Manager I am sure there will be job openings coming up soon (as soon as we have hired the
TQM).
The remuneration of the role would be to officially become a member of the CFEclipse Crew, and your photo and bio be added to the CFEclipse website.
To apply for this role, send me an , saying what you think you can bring to this role, and how much time you can devote to this task.
P.S. in case you are an agency, before you start calling me, this is a volunteer role and there is no money involved.
